Greetings and [a belated] Happy Nowruz (New Year/Spring) to all lovers of peace and justice!
INTRODUCTION
Based on the MLI's previous progress reports (please see our website's "Progress Reports" page), here is our third periodic Progress Report, summarizing EXCITING new developments; while it is still noteworthy that the very idea of the Mossadegh Legacy Institute (MLI) was born only 5 months ago (November 14, 2012), and all of the progress since then has been achieved in a loving "Mossadeghi" way,
1- The "Mossadegh Awareness Begets Sanity in Foreign Policy Tour" (MAB-SFPT) of the U.S.

The MAB-SFPT begins its first community gathering on May 17, 2013, in Corvallis (Oregon, US) and we urge you to visit the tour's often-updated page: Please see the top of our home page, herein: http://www.
2- The MLI's "Liberty Bell" Grand Opening Event on August 18, 2013
As the grand finale event of the (above) tour's Phase 1, we are continuing to move forward in the exciting process of conducting the MLI's formal "grand opening" event, per our website's "Projects" and "Mission Statement" pages.
Thus, the Mossadegh Legacy Institute (MLI) is proud to hereby announce that the (below-listed) amazing scholars/activists have responded favorably (so far) to our formal invitation to speak in person (or to participate remotely--as indicated), in the MLI's official opening ceremonies, on Sunday, August 18, 2013 (the 1953 CIA coup's 60th anniversary), right across the street from the American "Independence Hall" and the "Liberty Bell" (visited in late 1951 by Dr. Mossadegh) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Here is a (still partial) list of confirmed participants--which speaks for itself:
Noam Chomsky (via video message); Tariq Ali (via Skype from Europe); Prof. Cyrus Bina; Dr. Mohammad Borghei; Dr. Fatemeh Haghighatjoo; Prof. Hamid Zanganeh; Ms. Pardiss Kebriaei; and Mr. Ali Shakeri.
While in the following months more information (including other prominent speakers) and relevant updates will be forthcoming [in our future public announcements--to also be reflected on our website's often-updated "Liberty Bell Grand Opening" page], we hereby request that the persons who are interested in attending the MLI's formal opening event, to please RSVP their intention, as soon as possible, by sending us an e-mail (or by writing an actual letter--per our website's contact page), containing their names and contact info (to include a phone number for confirmation), group affiliation (if any), and the number of persons intending to honor us with their attendance.
The ticket price for this very special event is $30, of which $20 is tax-deductible in the U.S.--as permitted by law. Persons making a TAX-DEDUCTIBLE donation to the MLI, may request to receive ONE "honorary ticket" [special seating at the event--up to a maximum of 10 such tickets] for each $100 of donation.
3- Mahatma Gandhi has been added to the MLI's Nobel Prize Petition
Per our website's "petition" page, we are proud to announce that (as of April 12, 2013) we have added the great Mahatma Gandhi (who was also denied such a prize while living) to our "Posthumous Nobel Peace Prize for Mossadegh: Petition to Nobel Foundation" -- http://www.
The petition has, as of today, over 150 signatures (Prof. Noam Chomsky's signature is # 19); and as in any other serious petitions of this "historic" nature, the first few hundred endorsement signatures (especially quality ones) are obviously the hardest to attract, especially when one notes that in appealing for petition signatures (and in general) our initiative is trying to stay true to the values and virtues that characterize the proud legacies of Mahatma Gandhi and Mohammad Mossadegh--i.e., not relying on "zar, zoor, va tazvir" (money, power, and deception) of any kind.

4- The "Mossadegh Symphony / Ensemble" Project
We are proud to announce [per the MLI's Mission Statement--in "The Work" section] that through this imaginative artistic project, we are hoping to begin the process of turning the "dream" of the world's first "Mossadegh Symphony" (and later on opera) into reality.
Part of the "methodology" of this "journey of the heart" is the gradual search we have begun, for appropriate persons who would eventually create the world's first "Mossadegh Ensemble."

Dear [lovers of peace and justice],
Greetings! Dan Shea (Veterans For peace, Chapter 72) and I would like to tell you about an opportunity for your chapters [or other non-violence promoting peace and justice organizations/groups] to participate in an important speaking tour.
As you will see below and in the attachments [already incorporated into the MLI's website], this is a much needed national educational tour, of which our two [Veterans For Peace] chapters are the initial "co-hosts," and we are writing to urge your VFP chapter to join us.
This e-mail also serves as an introduction to Moji Agha, the founder of the Mossadegh Legacy Institute (MLI), the person who is launching the "Mossadegh Awareness Begets Sanity in Foreign Policy Tour" (MAB-ASFPT) next month.
The MAB-SFPT is a project of a much praised relatively new initiative called the "Mossadegh Legacy Institute (MLI)," the Chair of whose "board of endorsers" (see the "who we are" page of the MLI's website) is none other than Noam Chomsky, and among its members are Tariq Ali, Cindy Sheehan, and David Swanson, joined by a very impressive group of academics and intellectuals.

Why We Need a Mossadegh Legacy Institute

The exact places and dates of the tour's initial [through final] gatherings in the NW region of the U.S.(starting in Mid-May) are currently being finalized. They will be announced [soon], in the MAB-SFPT page of the Mossadegh Legacy Institute's website--and elsewhere.
We encourage you to look at the proposed schedule, and to talk to your groups (as soon as possible) about bringing the MAB-SFPT to your town. Moji will be contacting you personally to tell you more about the tour, and to answer any questions you might have--or you may contact him via the contact info, herein: http://www.
We believe that this profoundly educational tour (with its deeply appropriate message: "Mossadegh Awareness Begets Sanity in Foreign Policy") could be a valuable step toward peace and understanding on our deeply imperiled Mother Earth.

در راستای برنامه پیش بینی شده بر اساس بیانیه اهداف و صفحه پروژه های وبگاه این پویش مردمی، فعالیت های ما جهت برگزاری موفق مراسم رسمی افتتاح انستیتو میراث مصدق (در انتهای فاز اول تور ذکر شده در بالا) پیشرفت های قابل توجهی داشته، و با توجه به اینکه 28 مرداد 1392 شصتمین سالگرد آن کودتای شوم است، بر آن شدیم که (با توجه به بازدید رسمی دکتر مصدق از "ناقوس آزادی" در "تالار استقلال" آمریکا در شهر فیلادلفیا) از این موقعیت پند آموز تاریخی جهت برگزاری مراسم ویژه گشایش رسمی فعالیت های انستیتو میراث مصدق استفاده کنیم
بسیار مفتخر و خرسندیم که (تا کنون) این اساتید، پژوهشگران و فعالان مدنی برجسته دعوت ما را جهت سخنرانی در این مراسم قبول کرده اند: نوام چامسکی (از طریق پیام ویدیوئی)؛ طارق علی (بوسیله اسکایپ -- از اروپا)؛ پروفسور سیروس بینا؛ دکتر محمد برقعی؛ دکتر فاطمه حقیقت جو؛ پروفسور حمید زنگنه؛ خانم پردیس کبریایی؛ و آقای علی

همانطور که میدانید، همچون دکتر مصدق، جایزه صلح نوبل از مهاتما گاندی بزرگ (دیگر
قهرمان مبارزه خشونت پرهیز با استعمار و استبداد) نیز دریغ شده است، که به این دلیل اخیرا گاندی را به درخواست این طومار افزودیم. خواهشمند است که ضمن آگاهی رسانی گسترده (بویژه به
آشنایان غیر ایرانی تان)، این طومار نوبل را امضا کرده و صفحه فیس بوکی انستیتو میراث مصدق را (به گونه ای گسترده) "لایک" و "شی ر" کنید
پروفسور نوام چامسکی نوزدهمین امضای طومار جایزه صلح نوبل برای مصدق -- و گاندی

بر اساس بیانیه اهداف انستیتو، مفتخریم که تصمیم به آغاز پروژه ایجاد نخستین
سمفونی مصدق (و بعدا اپرا) و به همچنین ارکستر مصدق را بدینوسیله اعلام داریم -- و البته روشن است که تحقق این رویای بلند روندی طولانی خواهد داشت
در این راستا (و به تدریج) در پی شناسایی و جذب منابع و افرادی خواهیم بود که اهل ذوق، فن، و عشق لازم برای این "سفر دل" باشند. صفحه "سمفونی و ارکستر مصدق" وبگاه انستیتو (و صفحه "شعر" آن) حاوی اطلاعات بیشتری در این مورد است -- و خواهد بود

INTRODUCTION
Based on the MLI's first progress report (sent December 23, 2012--please see below), here is our second periodic Progress Report, summarizing what we have achieved since the first; while it is noteworthy that the very idea of the Mossadegh Legacy Institute (MLI) was born only two months ago (November 14, 2012), and all of the below-outlined progress has been achieved in a loving "Mossadeghi" way, namely, without reliance on money, power, and deception -- zar, zoor, va tazvir:

Mossadegh Nobel Peace Prize Petition Update & Happy Holidays/New Year From the MLI

Dear Mossadegh Legacy Institute (MLI) Community,
Hi/Salam -- and Happy Holidays/New Year!
I am happy to be sending you the first of our periodic brief Progress Reports--and this one shares our addition of a little summary (in English and Persian) to the Posthumous Nobel Peace Prize for Mossadegh: Petition to Nobel Foundation:
SUMMARY--in English: To partially correct an immense historical injustice, this petition [backed by Prof. Noam Chomsky at signature number 19] asks the Nobel Foundation to make an historic exception to its 1974 decision, and as early as possible award a posthumous Nobel Peace Prize to Dr. Mohammad Mossadegh.
خلاصه--به فارسی: برای جبران بخشی از یک بیعدالتی بزرگ تاریخی، امضا کنندگان این طومار [با پشتیبانی استاد نوام چامسکی در امضای شماره نوزده] از بنیاد نوبل میخواهند که نسبت به تصمیم سال ۱۹۷۴ خود استثنایی تاریخی قائل شده، و در اولین فرصت یک جایزه صلح نوبل پس-از-وفات را به دکتر محمد مصدق اعطا کند
