Statement of Endorsement for the Circles Movement
August 3, 2016
By: Noam Chomsky
I have been most impressed with the initiatives of Moji Agha [a.k.a. Mojtaba Aghamohammadi], especially as he has been developing the comprehensive "Circles Movement" project (a.k.a. Circles of Nonviolence/Community Collaboratives Initiative) and with their efforts to engage people to undertake the tasks that must be addressed with dedication and commitment if there are to be hopes of decent survival. And I am pleased to endorse these very valuable policies and actions.
FULL PROJECT DESCRIPTION: America for Nonviolence page of this website:
NOTE: This page is in the process of being updated.
IMPORTANT NOTES
a) Related to the "Nonviolence/Mossadegh Tour" page of this website, the history (i.e., previous gatherings) of the tour are listed at the bottom of this page.
b) Please notice that the Mossadegh Legacy Institute (MLI) and the Circles of Nonviolence / Community Collaboratives initiative (and speaking tour) are organizationally and functionally independent of one another.
Current projects:
1- Nonviolence / Mossadegh Tour (a.k.a. Circles of Nonviolence / Community Collaboratives / Mossadegh Legacy" Tour of the U.S.)
In collaboration with interested American peace, justice, environmental, and interfaith groups, since May of 2013 we have been conducting this on-going speaking tour, criss-crossing the U.S. Please visit the "Nonviolence/Mossadegh Tour" and the "America for Nonviolence" pages of this website for more information, the dates and locations of the tour's gatherings, Circle/Collaboratives meetings, etc.
Date of Project Origination: January 17, 2013
2- Circles of Nonviolence/Community Collaboratives (a.k.a. "Socratic" Integration) Initiative
Per the MLI's Mission Statement (in the first two paragraphs of "The Work" section), this independently functioning project, started by the Mossadegh Legacy Institute, has been inspired by and aims to enhance/expand, in the here and now, the visionary legacy of Dr. Mohammad Mossadegh--especially with regard to the nonviolence aspects of his proud life and work. In fact, Circles of Nonviolence/Community Collaboratives Initiative has come to be in the context of the MLI's Project # 1 (above), and while it has been initiated by the Mossadegh Legacy Institute, it is not run by it in any way.
Statement of Core Mission for the Circles of Nonviolence/Community Collaboratives Project
Please see the America for Nonviolence page: http:// mossadeghlegacyinstitute. blogspot.com/p/america-for- nonviolence-anv.html
Date of Project Origination: May 7, 2013
3- The "Grand Opening" Event Project
Related to Project # 1 (above) per the MLI's Mission Statement (in "The Opening" section), we are continuing the process of building and/or finding the needed infrastructures, supports, and resources, in order to fully establish the MLI, and to conduct its formal "grand opening" event successfully.
Please see the "Liberty Bell Grand Opening" page of this website for more information.
Date of Project Origination: November 14, 2012
4- The "Mossadegh and Gandhi Joint Nobel Peace Prize" Petition Project
Per the MLI's Mission Statement (in "The Prize" section), we are continuing the gradual process of gathering signatures for the MLI's petition, requesting a posthumous joint Nobel Peace Prize for Dr. Mossadegh and Mahatma Gandhi, with an initial goal of 100,000 signatures.
Please see the "Mossadegh/Gandhi Nobel Peace Prize Petition" page of this website for more information.
Date of Project Origination: December 17, 2012
5- The "Mossadegh Symphony / Ensemble" Project
Part of the "methodology" of this "journey of the heart" is the search we have begun for appropriate persons who would eventually create the world's first "Mossadegh Ensemble."
We are continuing to take small and gradual collaborative steps, in the process of turning into finalized form, the composition, arrangement, and orchestration, eventually, of the music (currently in pre-composition "raw material" stage) for the ballad: "Mossadegh, O' Dear, You Shall Everlast" -- Please see the"Mossadegh Ballads" page of this website.
WE URGE YOU TO CONTACT US WITHOUT HESITATION, IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN JOINING (or contributing to) THIS "DREAM" -- AT ANY LEVEL -- THANK YOU.
NOTE:
As this exciting process advances (obviously at its own artistic pace), the "Mossadegh Symphony and Ensemble" and the "Who We Are" pages of this website would be the places to visit, regarding more details and to find the other persons involved in this "journey of the heart."
Date of Project Origination: March 12, 2013
Per the MLI's Mission Statement (in "The Vision" paragraph), and given the full compatibility of the MLI's "Mossadeghi" vision of integrated peace with the vision and mission of the Universal Coalition for Interfaith and Intercultural Knowledge and Action (UCIIKA), on October 27, 2013 the "Simple Peace Vigil" was adopted by the Mossadegh Legacy Institute (MLI), as an independently functioning affiliated project.
It is noteworthy that Sunday, November 27, 2016 (7 PM) marked completion of the Day 5,000 of this “green leaf in water” non-stop peace vigil’s on-going
(24/7) local and global “inner and outer” observance--so far by over 19,000 persons around the world. On that day the Bismarck Mandan Unitarian Universalist Fellowship and Church in North Dakota hosted the vigil's Day 5,000 celebration and adopted to be a host of the Simple Peace Vigil.
This is while on October 27, 2013 the Unitarian Universalist Church of Midland, Texas was the first place of worship to begin observing the "Simple Peace Vigil" as a regular part of its weekly Sunday service--which is why the MLI has chosen this joyous date to mark its formal adoption of the project.
